I have always enjoyed working with my hands. My career involved sitting at a desk all day, so I was missing being able to be creative. I wanted to find a hobby that I could do after retirement from my corporate job. I had been buying soap for years from a lady in the next town over. I would stock up with her soap when I saw her at craft shows. During the pandemic, she offered a class on soapmaking. When I saw the process, I decided this would be the hobby I would do. I’ve been making soap since 2020. I love how my skin has responded to all natural ingredients. It has been a big change from using commercial soap. In 2025, I wanted to branch out and do something new in addition to soap making. I saw some upcycled t-shirts at a boutique in Atlanta, GA and started upcycling t-shirts here in Charles Town, WV.
